A First Edition of Charles Darwin’s ‘The Power of Movement in Plants.’ Published in 1880 by John Murray. Written by Charles Darwin with the assistance of his son Francis. With Illustrations. This book was one of several written following the publication of  ‘On The Origin Of Species’ in 1859, and was, to all intents, the culmination of his life’s work on the behaviour of plants, and the penultimate publication before his death in 1882. The book is ex Birmingham Library. As evidenced, it was donated to Birmingham Library by the original owner in 1934 and discarded by the same some time afterwards. This volume is in generally very good condition with some inscriptions.
